Wood County Department of Job and Family Services
The Wood County Department of Job and Family Services administers programs designed to help Wood County residents be healthy and safe, while gaining or maintaining employment and independence. There are four separate units ready to assist people within the Department: Employment, Medical, and Income Services Unit; Social Services Unit; Work Activities Unit; Children's Protective Services Unit.

Behavioral Connections of Wood County provides a comprehensive, accessible, and affordable continuum of behavioral health care for Wood County residents. Services include prevention, crisis intervention, plus diagnostic and treatment services for people affected by substance abuse or mental health issues.

The Wood County Veterans Assistance Officer advises and assists active in the Armed Forces of the United States, veterans, spouses, children, parents, and dependents of veterans in preparing and presenting claims or obtaining rights or benefits under any law of the United States or Ohio. Benefits include vocational rehabilitation, outpatient medical center services, pension, compensation, VA Home Loans, Agent Orange or Nuclear Radiation Exposure, correction of military records, burial allowance, education and training, nursing home care, insurance, hospitalization, alcohol and drug dependence, and appeal of adverse VA decisions.
